Everything a new villager needs, and nothing you have to do.
Joining starts with an email from an officer. It has your sign-in link and shows you how to find your way back in afterwards, so keep it. Sign in with the Google account the invitation was sent to: that address is what ties the account to your villager.
Lost it, or signed in with a different account and landed nowhere? Ask an officer to send it again.
Once you are in, you have:
Installing Chronicler is how you opt in, and not installing it costs you nothing. You are a full villager either way: same pages, same Warband, same place in the Village. Your characters are added by hand on your Warband, and no game data about you is uploaded from your computer.
If you do install it, it records from the moment the game starts, because installing it is the choice. You can narrow that at any time. In game, type /ric config to open its panel:
Changes apply immediately, no reload. A switched-off category is noted in the upload as switched off, so a quiet night is never mistaken for nothing having happened. /ric status tells you whether it is recording right now.
One thing to know: a guildmate who records sees the group they play in. If you are in their party, their addon notes the party’s chat and fights, and you are in them. Read the privacy page for how that is handled.
That is all, once. Chronicler uploads a night after you close the game, and updates itself while the game is closed.
Play. There is nothing to start or stop.
If you recorded, the night’s organiser may end it with /ric flush. You will be asked to Save & Reload: click it once and your night uploads while the game stays open. Recording then pauses; /ric resume starts it again if you keep playing.
Afterwards the night is written up as a Chronicle. Nothing is published until somebody has read it.
Craig is the guild’s chronicler in Discord. Say his name and he answers, in the channels he has been invited to.
To stop recording, switch off Automatic session capture in /ric config. To remove it entirely, delete the Reincarnated folder from Interface\AddOns and untick Start Chronicler when I sign in to Windows in Chronicler.
Anything already uploaded, and anything written about you, can be corrected or removed. The privacy page says how.
