Arrowyy discovered a grand announcement was due precisely when duty hauled him elsewhere. He made the particular wounded noise of a man asked to miss a spectacle whose nature nobody yet knew. Summoneyy promised thirty minutes of attention, which is apparently enough time to judge any public contest and perhaps reorganise its prizes.
It turned out to involve two factions, a locked-place trial, and a great many costumed people around a night fire. Blaedy identified Arrowyy as the likely enchanter with the calm certainty of someone assigning a bucket to the nearest man during a flood. He will either oblige or vanish into the hills; both are traditional.
