Arrowyy asked me to teach Meho to read, which is kind of him and optimistic in the way only a son can be. He has a few pages on her now and has apparently decided this makes him qualified to recruit tutors. Meho’s attention remains the larger educational difficulty.
Then a borrowed Orcish grunt became a lesson in not being clever at somebody else’s expense. Fair enough. I made the joke cheaply, and Arrowyy caught me at it. By the end we were discussing men who sell banners, hats, and blame while grain vanishes from cupboards. Arrowyy announced he was proud of me, then posted a picture of some richly dressed fellow applauding as though I had finally learned table manners. I will accept both judgments cautiously.
